What is the difference between a nurse and a midwife?
Nurses and midwives may both specialize in working with pregnancy or birth, but midwives are trained to manage and make the care decisions while nurses are trained to assist the primary care provider.
What does a midwife do when labor occurs?
We come to your house and support you throughout active labor including monitoring you and your baby for any risk factors. We believe in you and your ability to give birth and it is our privilege to keep your space safe.
What is the difference between a doula and a midwife?
A doula is hired by the pregnant person to support them during labor. A doula does not have any medical training and works primarily with comfort measures and moral support. A midwife has medical training and is a primary care provider during the childbearing period.
