Trusting natures process and mother’s intuition

Simply Birth Midwifery is a team that combines the science of medicine with the art of individual intuitive care to facilitate the natural birth you desire.

Meet Us

We have created a team that is committed to you and your birth experience. The basis of this team is that we can give you better care because we are taking care of ourselves and not over-stressing ourselves by being on call all the time alone.

You will see the midwives alternately at appointments and then whoever is on call will come to your birth along with a birth assistant (who may be the other midwife).

Our philosophy comes from our strong understanding of the physiologic process of birth and trusting that process and the mother’s intuition as well as our own.

Our Values & Beliefs

Personalized Prenatal Care

We believe in personalized prenatal care in which the parents are active participants from the beginning.

Informed Decision Making

We believe in informed decision making, not just informed consent.

A Safe and Gentle Environment

We believe that waterbirth is a safe and gentle environment for a baby to be born in.

A Normal Physiologic Process.

We believe human childbirth is a normal physiologic process.

Katriel Rogers, CPM-TN

Even as a child I knew that someday I wanted to be a midwife. My mother had homebirths and I grew up around women who believed in the simplicity and beauty of birth. In 2015, I officially started my midwifery journey when I started attending the Florida School of Traditional Midwifery in Gainesville FL. During school, I attended more than 90 labors and births and saw hundreds of women prenatally. I graduated a semester early in April of 2018 and became licensed in TN later that summer. Now I attend births with my birth assistants in the southeastern Tennessee area.

Kyndall Proffitt, CPM-TN

I was born and raised in Nashville, TN. I began attending births as a doula in 2011 and began studying midwifery in 2012. I have experienced birth in various roles and settings including home, hospital, and birth centers. I graduated from the Midwives College of Utah in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Midwifery. My clinical training was with both CPMs and CNMs across the state and nation. I have experience with VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean), twins, and breech deliveries. I maintain certification in both CPR and NRP.

I have a passion for women’s health, reproductive justice, and holistic medicine. Outside of being a midwife, I am a mother, wife, yoga instructor, and aspiring herbalist. I enjoy traveling, hiking, foraging, gardening, cooking, and music. When not on call, you’ll likely find me exploring in the woods!

Drexel Bond

Drexel has been interested in pregnancy, birth, and babies for most of her life. When one of her close friends became pregnant in 2012, she was able to walk along side and support her through the whole experience. After this, Drexel decided to pursue becoming a doula. She immersed herself in all things birth, reading anything and everything that she could get her hands on and talking with mothers about their personal birth experiences. She completed doula training through DONA . She believes in empowering mothers and families by supporting them in the birth that they desire. It is her passion to educate, inform, and encourage mothers and their partners to play an active role in their pregnancy and birth. Drexel joined Simply Birth as a birth assistant to support families specifically choosing homebirth.
